  18. Amigas were orignally designed to be the ultimate games machine, back in 1982
  19. but thne the botom dropped out of the video games market so the team converted
  20. the machine into a computer..

  22. Got to agree with you about people not knowing what they are buying when they
  23. buy a PC, I used to work on technical support and the amount of people that
  24. didn't know what they had in their machines is unbelievable...

  26. Thing that has always annoyed me is that Commodore was there before IBM with the
  27. business computer which was accepted by everyone, the Commodore PET..

  29. They managed to shaft that up, they made BILLIONS of dollars from the C64, they
  30. pissed all that away, they got the Amiga managed to kill themselves off with
  31. it..
  32. Is it any surprise with that track record they died??

  45. Thats the thing tho.. Go into any store and enquire about buying a computer for
  46. word processing and graphics, plus playing games.

  48. You get a PC shoved in your face... even in Escom store you get this..

  55. PC - Pentium 120Mhz, 1200 meg HD, 4x CD ROM, 16 Meg Ram - 1200 quid(ish)
  56. Amiga - 68040 25Mhz, 540 Meg HD, 6 Meg ram - 2200 quid(ish)

  58. Mr. Public looks at the numbers Big numbers impress him, excpet the price

  60. How do you expect the Amiga to compete at a thousand quid more for "less"
